|||A couple was found dead in a holiday apartment in George, Western Cape police said on Wednesday.
Captain Bernadine Steyn said the body of Annemarie van Loggenberg, 35, was found on a bed on Tuesday afternoon with a single gunshot wound to her head.
She said 39-year-old Willie Venter was found nearby, also with a single gunshot to the head.
A 9mm pistol with a silencer was found on the scene.
Police found their bodies after being notified of a hole in the window of the locked apartment in Campher's Drift.
“There are allegations that shots were heard on Monday afternoon,” Steyn said.
“It is a possibility that the man may have shot the woman before turning the gun on himself. But we cannot speculate until the autopsy is conducted.”
A murder and inquest docket were opened. - Sapa
