The man accused of beating petrol attendant Lawrence Mandipazano to death appeared in court in connection with the murder.
|||Cape Town - The man accused of beating petrol attendant Lawrence Mandipazano to death is expected to apply for bail at his next court appearance.
On Wednesday, Labeeq Manan, 30, appeared in the dock in connection with Mandipazano’s murder.
Mandipazano, who was from Zimbabwe, was allegedly beaten by a customer at the Lentegeur Service Station on June 4 and later died in hospital.
On Wednesday, there were too many matters on the court roll to complete, and presiding magistrate Walter Golding postponed the case to July 2 for a bail application.
Surveillance footage showed the driver of a BMW attacking Mandipazano, dring off and returning with a wooden plank. He then allegedly beat Mandipazano with it.
