33-year-old scrap dealer from Belhar was gunned down and robbed on Wednesday night.
Police spokesman Colonel Thembinkosi Kinana said the man sustained a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene.
“While lying critically injured the perpetrators robbed him of his firearm, a 9mm Grand Power and one loaded magazine.”
Kinana said it appeared that the victim was targeted for his legal gun.
The man was allegedly visiting his girlfriend at the time of the attack.
“One spent cartridge was recovered. The victim is believed to be a well known scrap dealer in the area.”
