Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa's former police bodyguard and two other men have appeared in court.
|||Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa's former police bodyguard and two other men appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court in Cape Town on Thursday.
The bodyguard, Ianval Suiling Isaacs, 33, is accused of breaking into Mthethwa's home.
He allegedly stole the minister's laptop and cellphone during the break-in, and then sold the items to the co-accused, Amdat Hossain, 42, and Mohammad Shapul Islam, 34.
The three were arrested in September last year, and were released on bail the next day.
The case was postponed to March 08, 2012 to enable the men's lawyer, Zirk Mackay, time to study the charges. At a previous hearing, the Western Cape Directorate for Public prosecutions (DPP) had directed the court to prosecute the men. All criminal charges involving police officials had to be referred to the DPP. - Sapa
